About Your Coach - Joy
Years ago I came to realize that the career I wanted wasn’t created yet. I wasn’t quite sure what I would do after college, but I knew I wanted to work with people and improve the quality of their lives. I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Behavioral Science in 2001 from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay but continued to work at a job that didn’t quite fulfill my life’s dream. When I found out about Wellness Coaching I knew the profession I wanted finally had arrived. Through inspiration, determination, and passion I received my certification from Coach Training Alliance emphasizing in course work in wellness and weight loss.
I grew up in a small town along the Wisconsin lakeshore with my mom, dad, brother, sister and a wonderful grandmother who lived in the apartment upstairs from us. I met and married my soul mate in 1979 and we have enjoyed 30+ years of marriage, supporting and caring for each other. In 1992 my husband and I, along with our three children, moved to another small town, this time in the Fox River Valley. Our three children have grown into incredible people and are all working toward using their gifts in their life’s work. Our oldest son, Victor, graduated from UW-Madison with a Political Science degree and Theater. He lives in California and is an actor, and Theapuetic Massage Therapist. Stacey, our daughter has also graduated from UW-Madison with a Masters Degree in Rehab Psychology. She lives in Colorado and works as a Rehab Psychology Counselor. She is also a member of the National Guard. Our youngest son Adam attends college at UW-Oshkosh, currently pursuing a degree in Radio TV and Film. As their lives become busy and diverse, my husband and I find our time with them very precious.
I’ve worked in various jobs and have owned two businesses over the years. For the past 12 years I have worked at a local call center holding various positions. I have served on the Wellness Committee and Employee Engagement Committee and have volunteered in the past with our church, library, local schools and the Fox Valley Literacy Coalition. Most recently I volunteer as a family mentor with CAP Services of Outagamie County Project TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More). I enjoy helping people improve the quality of their lives and have enjoyed coaching and mentoring many associates over the years. I have a tremendous amount of customer service experience that will serve you well if you should become my client.
My greatest passions have always been my family and wellness. I believe a safe, strong, healthy, balanced life is the most important foundation one can provide for their children, society and themselves. Our family has shared its ups and downs – my husband is a cancer survivor, we’ve endured layoffs and downsizing as well as many other challenges throughout the years. These life experiences have prepared me well by making me the strong, positive person I am today. My faith in God has allowed me to always know things will work out, and they always have.
I am ready to work with you to create the healthy lifestyle you envision right now!
